Back to School

Back to School and working on a Pioneer participation play about a wagon train traveling  from Independence Missouri to Julesburg Colorado.
Writing a script for a participation play is exciting!  Wanting to get all the facts precise might be taxing but not as arduous as the Pioneers on the Overland Trail had it.  The story centers around 5 families on a journey from Missouri to California but decide to stay in Colorado.
Fact: Most Wagon Masters and Scouts were ex-Confederate Military In the 5 years after the Civil War 1865-70 there was a sharp increase in in the flow of unemployed Southerners to the West.

Buffalo Soldiers were the strongest and best protection for Easterners and Emigrants traveling West across Kansas in 1866. They were the 101st Regiment of the US Army. Most went on to be the original Wild West Cowboys, friends. The Sioux Nation feared them as they were as brave as they were, if not more. They were the African American US 10th Cavalry and they feared nothing.
