Professional educator, magician, entertainer, comedian, and author Connie Elstun takes students K-Adult on a mega historical journey through the world of magic in one short hour. Students travel back through time to meet the father of magic as we know it today Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin. Students take a virtual tour of time travel to the days of the Pyramids, then to the dark ages of Europe, and finally, land in the Art's district of Paris France circa 1875. Students learn the correlation between magic and science as they find out that most magic tricks are science-based by participating in hands-on magic demonstrations. Each student leaves with an interest and brief knowledge of how a magic trick works and how magic effects can be done with everyday objects. Students are given items such as a paper plate, a paper cup, rubber bands and pieces of rope and they are taught how to perform magic with them. The curriculum is adjusted to the grade level of the student. Students learn a brief history of magic and the relationship between magic and science. Children 5-9 will learn how to make their own magic with items they may already own. Young people ages 9-14 will learn some impressive mini illusions. Ideas and blueprints sent directly to Connie Elstun from Criss Angel Mindfreak. Highlights include learning how to make a pencil go through a balloon, changing the denomination of play money bills in front of a spectator's eyes and creating an illusion out of a paper plate and a paper cup. Along with learning new exciting science experiments, the students will become acquainted with the world of performing and public speaking.
