My favorite scary movie #3

It is a cold gray day here in the Rocky Mountain West. Perfect weather for a scary movie with good jumps in it. That brings me to my favorite scary movie  #3: The Ring

I must say reading the translated book first was a definite must for me to understand this film a little better.  Don't let the old fashioned VHS throw you.  The monster in this one can use whatever is available.  I hear tell it uses DVD's and cell phones in the new one.

We can thank director Gore Verbinski for helping J-horror cross the Pacific; his remake of Hideo Nakata’s Ringu is the first to translate the subgenre for American audiences. About a journalist investigating the sinister origins of a cursed videotape, it’s one of those we still have trouble getting through without hitting pause.
